Cove Of Desire was founded in 1850 by a small British fleet that was looking for land along the Canadian Coast. They found a small bit of land along the edge of Newfoundland and named it Cove Of Desire. This was one of the many civilizations that the French and British did not fight over. The small settlement struggled throughout the years due to very few resources. There was a small Cod fishery off the south side of the settlement, but it didn't do much for the village. So, the founders sent their men into the wooded area to hunt. This is what kept Cove Of Desire alive, and this is why it's still a small village on the south tip of Newfoundland.

 As the rain [o p e n;;] falls

A hushing silence fell over the malt shop as the first clap of thunder arose. It was the first thunderstorm of August, and people had been waiting. The thunderstorms in Cove Of Desire were magnificent and often featured the famous purple lighting with dark blue/purple clouds. They would literally make your mouth drop if you took the risk of rushing up to the bay and sitting on one of the peaks. The malt shop was fairly dark despite the efforts of the owner replacing the light bulbs of the dimming lights. It didn't matter, every few seconds the room was brightened with bolts of white and purple lightning. Some people sat in the corner, clutching on to their friends, others jumped to their feet and crowded against the window. Either way, the storm was bound to last for a day or so.

Delilah had found herself taking her time from walking down by the harbor. She had been helping her father clean out the sail boat all morning until he had recently dismissed her because of the storm. Her destination was the malt shop, or perhaps she would have to duck and take cover under one of the sheltered picnic areas and wait. It didn't matter, Delilah loved the rain, and she had left her umbrella in the boat by accident. The first few lightning strikes and thunder claps had startled her, but she was growing used to them every second. Finally, through the thin layer of fog that had settled on the town she spotted the small little malt shop, the dim lights just barely shining through the windows framed with curtains.

The rain started the fall, harshly. Delilah raised her head to the clouds and smiled, the rain felt so good against her boiling skin. She had been waiting for this thunderstorm for such a long time, and it was worth waiting for. She sighed ever so gently as she arrived at Oreo's. She engulfed the brass handle in her hand and jerked the door open. Everyone gazed at her like she was a creature from the mist. Her hair was dripped wet, and her "ballerina flats" were tracking in the water. She took a seat near the counter and smiled at the owner. They knew each other pretty well, and during the days where the place was empty, they often exchanged their likes and dislikes. He was a fair tempered man that she had grown fond of throughout all her life on Cove Of Desire. He had a clean, face, no mustache or beard. His hair was a light orange, with flecks of gray. A large bald spot replaced the placement of where more of his thick orange hair used to be. Overall, he was a pleasant man to look at and to talk to.

Aaron was looking out on the beach and taking pictures with his camera when he jumped at a crack of lightening. He looked up at the sky as rain started to fall down like the sky was crying. He sighed and struggled to put on his jacket over him and his camera that was hanging around his neck. "Come on... Come on.." He spoke trying to cover up his camera before it and his pictures were completely ruined along with his camera. He finally got it on and zipped it up sighing a bit.

Aaron looked around and started to jog down the street. He was pretty new here and he didnt want to run home just yet because his camera wasnt full with pictures. He hated when his day was cut short. He looked up at the sky and was kind of in 'Awe' at the lightening and how the sky looked. It was like nothing he had ever seen before. And he wanted so badly to take pictures of it. He looked arouns to see if he could find something to block his camera from the rain but not the beautiful sights appearing in the sky. So he saw a shop that looked somewhat opened. The lights were very dim but he could see people inside when the lightening flashed.

Aaron jogged over to the store and walked in looking around at the people kind of stareing at him as he walked in. He sighed and walked over to the nearest window and kind of made sure that a picture WOULD come out through the window. He pulled his camera out of his jacket and pointed it to the little amount of sky there was in between buildings and focused it ready to take the picture at any moment. And with the tinyest trace that a lightening bolt was going to strike he took the picture. He looked down at his camera and smirked. "Got it." He spoke kind of quietly seeing as his british accent would probably make him stick out too much for his comfort. He pointed it towards down the street and took the picture when the lightening lit up the road and he smiled again.

Aaron took a few more pictures of the surrounding area then backed away from the window looking at his camera. "You still arent full? Oh well.. The more space you have the better for me." He spoke softly with a smile as he let the camera hang from his neck. He let his beautiful blue eyes scan the room and they landed on a girl. She was sitting down and looking at a somewhat olding man. He was wearing a sort of uniform so he figured he either worked there or owned it. He looked around everywhere else and saw that there wasnt really any empty tables so he looked back towards the girl. He ran a hand through his hair as he walked over to where she was sitting. "Would you mind if I uh sit here?" He asked her trying to hold off on the British accent as much as he could but it was hard seeing as he was acustomed to it for so long. He smiled and bit at his lip ring a little bit as he looked at her.

The claps of thunder grew more frequent as if it was hurricane season. Perhaps this was a hurricane from the states or just another large storm. Some of the tourists who had taken shelter in the malt shop jumped at the loud booming of the reckless thunder, the residents just sat there talking and giggling. Delilah shivered as the door was opened and an icy wind blew in. "Ya okay, Lila?" the man asked eying her carefully and trying to avoid the Newfie slang. Although Delilah had lived in the cove all her life, she never really picked up on the Newfie slang, she did have the cute Newfie accent though. She raised her drenched head and smiled gently.

"Just a little cold, Albert, that's all, nothing to be concerned about," she replied in a small shivering peep. Albert shook his head and finished polishing off a milkshake glass.

"Just be careful... missy, we don't need a girl passing out in this joint, it would be bad for business, people always assume that it was something I made," Albert laughed shaking his head as he finished another glass.

The rain fell harder and the lights flickered a little bit more, the small shack growing dimmer. "He really needs a new place," Delilah thought shaking her head. The electricity barely reached out this far, which was why, no matter what you did, the lights would always be dim and they would flicker. Delilah and her family had offered him a generator on countless occasions, but he never accepted it. People were so stubborn toward Delilah, and she never really had the slightest idea why. "Albert... could I get a coffee?" she asked, shuddering as she slid a five dollar bill across the counter. Albert nodded politely and gave the change back and poured a steamy cup of coffee. "Thanks," Delilah smiled taking a sip. Albert nodded and went back to his business.

"Would you mind if I uh sit here?"

Delilah turned her head to see a young boy, she smiled gently and nodded. "Sure, go ahead," she told him. She had detected a British accent in the boy's voice, which was partially why she allowed him to sit down. Her parents always told her to be nice to the visitors so that they would have a pleasant stay here. Even if he wasn't a visitor, she would let him sit beside her, the shop was pretty crowded and there were no tables left. "So... uh, are you from Britain?"

Aaron listened to the booms that were echoed in the malt shop and he jumped a tiny bit every time. He hadnt gotten used to the thunder yet. Even if he was prepared for the thunder he still jumped a bit from the great sound that came from it. He shook his head getting lost in his thoughts and he looked back at the girl and nodded a little bit when she told him that he could sit there. He took the seat across from her and smiled a little bit.

"Thank you." He spoke to the girl but it was kind of quiet and a thunder rumbled when he talk so he cleared his throat. "Thank you." He stated again but louder and he set his camera down on the table in front of him and he looked out the window at the dark outside as the rain fell. He heard the girl speak to him and he blinked turning his head back to her. He listened to the question and he nodded a little bit with a smile. "Yes I am British. I probably stick out like a sore thumb dont I?" He spoke laughing a little bit. "My name is Aaron.. Aaron Blaire." He spoke introducing himself to the girl. "I am fairly new here. I moved here less then a year ago." He spoke looking at the girl. "I have lived in Britain for 17 years. Kinda miss it a bit." He spoke nodding as he looked at the girl.
